Czech Man Badly Hurt In Brighton Fight

Police are investigating an assault that took place in Manchester Street at the junction with Marine Parade at about 5am on the morning of Sunday, September 7. It is possibly linked to an earlier robbery that took place in the Old Steine.

A 20-year-old Czech national visiting Brighton received a serious head injury after being kicked and punched. He has been transferred to Hurstwood Park in Haywards Heath for specialist treatment. A 17-year-old from Brighton was arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH and is currently in custody.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the assault or who has any other information. Contact police quoting serial 349 of 7/9.

This is our third report in recent weeks of daylight assaults after all night drinking. When are the Council and Police going to put our safety first before the alcohol dealers’ profits?
