Five more arrests in Eastbourne over alleged drug dealing

Eastbourne police have made five more arrests over alleged drugs dealing in the town.

Following on three arrests on Thursday (14 May) last week, officers searched two addresses, in Leslie Street and Prideaux Street, and two lock-up garages off Southern Road on Friday evening (15 May)

At the two addresses more than 450 cannabis plants were seized, together with 20 kilos of harvested cannabis. The harvested cannabis has a total estimated potential street value of some £140,000, but it is not possible to provide a reliable estimate for the growing plants. In the garages officers found three presses set up for the preparation of cocaine for sale.

Five more arrests were made on Friday. Jetnar Maxhari, 36, of no fixed address, and Julian Rama, 27, of Leslie Street, were charged with production of cannabis. They were due to appear in custody at Brighton magistrates court on Monday (18 May)

Three men, aged 36, 27 and 39 were arrested on suspicion of the supply of cocaine and were later released on police bail until 11 September while enquiries continue.

The three previous arrests had been made on Thursday.(14 May). Terrell Davis, 21, of Blenheim Gardens, London, and Paul Nolan, 32, of St Aubyns Road, Eastbourne, were charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin, worth £2,000, appeared in custody at Brighton magistrates court on Friday (14 May), and were remanded in custody until 4 June.

Separately, a 46-year-old taxi driver, Darren Agg, of Kingfisher Drive, Eastbourne, was charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis and heroin and appeared in custody at Brighton magistrates court on Saturday (16 May). He was remanded in custody for a separate first appearance at Crown Court on 4 June.
