Labour achieved an amazing political comeback through hard work and dogged perseverance taking Hanover and Elm Grove ward in the Brighton & Hove City Council by election  last night at Brighton Town Hall.

The new Labour seat, once a Green stronghold, was won by Emma Daniel, becoming the new Labour councillor.

The result was

Labour                                    1,396

Greens                                    1.358

Conservative                           275

UKIP                                            250

Trade Unions AC                    172

Liberal Democrats                  56

 

Turnout     3,520 from a total electorate of 12,043  is 29%
