Police in Brighton are searching for three men suspected of attempting to rape a woman in a city centre street.

The 23-year old local woman was walking home along Western Street, Brighton, at 4.30am on Friday 14 November when, at the junction with Sillwood Street she was approached by three men, who grabbed her and pulled her to the floor, attempting to remove her jeans.

However the woman fought back, struggled free from the men and ran off, very shaken but uninjured.

All three suspects are described as black. One had shoulder length braided hair, and was wearing a beige jacket, and dark jeans or trousers. The other two wore dark clothing. One of the suspects spoke with an accent.

PC Neil Lambert of Brighton CID said;
