The Mayor of Brighton, Cllr Brian Fitch, was present at a Police Awards Ceremony yesterday.
Fourteen new recruits were awarded their Independent Patrol Status at Brighton Town Hall and afterwards they and their families were entertained in the Mayor’s Parlour.They are now able to patrol on their own.
Chief Superintendent Nev Kemp, Brighton and Hove Divisional Commander, said:
This is a significant achievement for our new recruits that follows a very competitive recruitment process and months of training where they have demonstrated that they can meet our high standards. I am very much looking forward to congratulating them at the ceremony. I am extremely pleased that we will have new officers, keen to serve the people of Brighton and Hove, as fully fledged members of the policing team in the City.”
