Police have appealed for help in identifying a dead kayaker and have issued an e-fit.
This latest appeal follows the release of CCTV images of the kayaker, which so far has not helped police to identify the man whose body was found in a kayak on Yaverland Beach, Sandown, on Friday, September 11.
The man was last seen at Brighton Canoes, in Newhaven, Sussex, at around 4pm on September 8, where he was described to have had an Irish accent.
Information has been shared in the force area of Hampshire and Isle of Wight, as well as in Sussex and Ireland; however, we are no closer to identifying the man and need the public’s help.
We do not know where the man lived or where he was originally from.
He is described as white, approximately mid 20s – mid 30s, blue eyes, dark hair, nice teeth, ‘well built’ and was wearing beige shorts and a blue zip-up jacket.
The kayak was a yellow and black ‘blow up’ Sevylor Conrad.
The death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing to try to establish the circumstances.
If you recognise the man in the e-fit image, or have any information that may help our investigation, please call Newport CID on 101 (Hampshire), quoting 44150315983.
