Brighton & Hove City Council Conservative Group leader Geoffrey Theobald told editor William Mills exclusively that a Tory Administration will deliver on its promises.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

We asked;<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please clarify you commitment in your manifesto to social housing- is it your policy to\u00a0build new council houses?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes, we will be continuing with the programme of commissioning new affordable housing on council owned land that we set up in 2009 when we were last in Administration.<\/p>\n

There is a lot of space on our existing estates that we could be making much better use of and, with the shortage of affordable housing now so acute, it makes sense to develop new homes in these areas.<\/p>\n

Our overall target, as laid out in the manifesto, is to deliver at least 1,000 new homes in the city in the next 4 years. This will be challenging but we believe it is achievable.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The people of Brighton and Hove have their say in the local Council elections on May 7 when all 54 City Council seats are up for election. At the same time we will vote in the General Election for our three Members of Parliament.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
