Sussex Police observed a two minutes silence for all those who,including three police officers who tragically lost their lives in Paris in the last 24 hours<\/strong>.<\/p>\n At 10.25am there was a short memorial service at police headquarters in Lewes<\/strong>, followed by the two minutes silence for all of those who died in these incidents and as a result of other such tragedies.<\/p>\n Deputy Chief Constable Olivia Pinkney quoted philosopher Voltaire-<\/strong><\/p>\n “I may not agree with what you have to say but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”<\/strong><\/p>\n Our job, as a proud police profession, is to protect the vulnerable, keeping people safe from harm. Yesterday our French colleagues were murdered doing simply that, dying alongside 10 others and today another officer has been murdered in the south of Paris.<\/strong><\/p>\n We are the police family. We stand with you, our colleagues in France as you mourn and honour those killed.
