British forces have kept the pressure on Islamic Terrorists over the Christmas break.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Iraq, Syria<\/strong><\/h4>\n

On<\/strong> Christmas Day, Tornado GR4s<\/strong> operating out of RAF Akrotiri<\/strong> in Cyprus<\/strong> fired two Brimstone<\/strong> missiles at an ISIL<\/strong> guardpost near Al Qaim<\/strong>\u00a0on the border between Syria<\/strong> and Iraq<\/strong>.\u00a0A second pair of GR4s<\/strong> operating further east \u00a0struck two\u00a0ISIL<\/abbr> vehicles concealed amidst trees on farmland by the Euphrates, south of the Hadithah Dam<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Then on 28 December, an RAF<\/abbr><\/strong>\u00a0unmanned drone \u00a0provided support to the Kurds<\/strong> further north. After a coalition air strike on 3 ISIL<\/abbr>\u00a0 heavy machine-gun positions, the Reaper<\/strong> then mounted 2 strikes of its own using Hellfire<\/strong> missiles against the enemy.<\/p>\n

RAF<\/strong><\/h4>\n

An\u00a0RAF<\/abbr> Voyager<\/strong> air-to-air refuelling tanker provided further air support, whilst on the ground a British Army<\/strong> team helped local volunteers with\u00a0infantry training.<\/p>\n
