Built in the premises of Latest Bar, owned by Bill Smith who founded Latest 7 and Latest Homes magazine, this is the new home of his long planned venture Latest TV Channel.<\/p>\n<p>Bill has been producing shows online for four years via Latest TV, but now his dream of having a proper broadcast channel for Brighton has been realised. It has taken him many years of hard work and raising finance to see the project come to fruition. Latest TV staff were on hand for the open day to demonstrate the new studio and control room and edit suite. He has filmed a food show to be aired soon \u2013 International Chef Exchange. At the heart of it all sits an impressive named machine called the Tricaster 8000, evoking some form of futuristic droid. However, it is a powerful broadcast edit and live streaming suite with vast capabilities, turning the green screen studio into a \u00a3100,000 looking news room at the touch of a button. It really is remarkable.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors were invited onto the set to try their hand at presenting, being fed live instructions from the control room, and further instructions from the autocue. Bill also plans to film music and comedy events in the basement bar and club of the premises. Latest TV won\u2019t only be playing their own content. The motto of the TV station\u2019s founder is \u2018if you make it, we\u2019ll screen it\u2019, stating he has a very egalitarian approach to what will be put on the channel. \u201cI believe TV should be democratic. So as well as the Latest team producing top class television we will be proud to show films and videos made by you, from Brighton and Hove, Adur and Worthing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Their TV license runs for 12 years, one of only 25 long term licenses recently awarded in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Latest TV launches on 28<sup>th<\/sup> August and will be on Freeview Channel 8 and Virgin 159 as well as being available online on demand.
