\nCame, whispered to her ear
\n\u201cHow you doing love,
\nDo you fancy some gear?\u201d<\/p>\n
And he led her to a room
\nWith a midnight city view.<\/p>\n
Her thoughts were played in riddles
\nAnd she didn\u2019t have a clue.<\/p>\n
Seeking sex or jazz or love?
\nShe bickered with the echoes of her soul.<\/p>\n
Pimping angels from Venus and mars
\nFlashing neon light read, \u2018heavenly massage\u2019<\/p>\n
She sang sweet blues
\nTo the strangeways screws
\nSpoke of suicide
\nA concrete void<\/p>\n
Wept at the romance of the streets.<\/p>\n
Sympathetic smile at a gaunt waitress
\nKnocked down by a late night bus
\nNumber 20
\nOn route to reality<\/p>\n
Sent a shiver through Manchester
\nAs the factories dream
\nSurrounded by ashes
