Police are hunting two men after an East Sussex sub-post office was robbed at North Street, Lower Horsebridge, near Hailsham,<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Just after 10 am on Saturday 24 May the men entered the store\u00a0threatening the post office counter staff with a knife, and stealing several thousand pounds cash from a safe behind the counter.<\/p>\n

The staff member, alone and \u00a0in his sixties, sustained arm and shoulder bruising as he tried to prevent them getting through the counter door, but did not require hospital treatment.<\/p>\n

The two robbers fled in a maroon older style Ford Escort, which drove away northward in the direction of the A267 and Heathfield. It was found abandoned in Hellingly shortly afterwards.<\/p>\n

One of the suspects, who had the knife and took the cash, is described as in his late twenties, medium build, about 6′, wearing a black hoodie and scarf.<\/p>\n

The other suspect is described as in his early twenties, about 5’10”, wearing a\u00a0 grey hooded top, grey jogging bottoms, and a black scarf. He wore a small black rucksack on his back.<\/p>\n

Operation Fountain<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Detective Sergeant Suzy Joseph said;<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We would like to hear from anyone who saw the men enter or leave the store, or who saw the car after it left the scene. If you can help please call us on 101 or email\u00a0101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting<\/a>\u00a0Operation Fountain.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
