Save Our Deans Campaign<\/h2>\n

Protesters, anxious at the destruction of the countryside, from the ‘Save Our Deans’ action group, demonstrated outside the Brighton Town Hall on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Roger Amerena<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Later Roger Amerena<\/strong>, Heritage Commissioner<\/strong> and Brighton’s acknowledged expert on building conservation said;<\/p>\n

To a packed council chamber with Simon Kirby MP<\/strong> present as an onlooker, \u00a0campaigner\u00a0Mr Wedd<\/strong> eloquently presented the petition with a three minute speech.<\/p>\n

A fierce 15 minute debate by councillors followed with the Council leader, Green Jason Kitcat<\/strong> unfairly accusing the Tories<\/strong> of the planning problem in which the city finds itself.<\/p>\n

On balance the chamber was receptive of the Deans plight and agreed the petition go to the planning committee. I believe the SOD case is strong and the Heritage Commission<\/strong> will back its objections right through the planning process.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
