{"id":5546,"date":"2014-05-09T08:06:16","date_gmt":"2014-05-09T08:06:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coopsy.co.uk\/thenews\/?p=5546"},"modified":"2014-05-14T08:27:23","modified_gmt":"2014-05-14T08:27:23","slug":"czech-student-gets-30-months-for-child-porn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/the-news.uk\/index.php\/news\/local-news-brighton\/2014\/05\/czech-student-gets-30-months-for-child-porn\/","title":{"rendered":"Czech Student Gets 30 Months For Child Porn"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>A Czech man studying at a Brighton language school was sent to prison for two and a half years by Lewes Court Court on Friday 2 May for possessing indecent images of children and other similar offences.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5547\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5547\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-5547\" src=\"https:\/\/the-news.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Zdenek-Junek-sex-offender-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Czech Zdenek Junek sea offender\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5547\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Czech Zdenek Junek sex offender<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Zdenek Junek,31<\/strong>, from <strong>Prague<\/strong> was caught in <strong>Brighton&#8217;s Old Steine<\/strong> filming children, and when his room was searched in his shocked host family&#8217;s house illegal photos were found on his laptop.<\/p>\n<p>It later transpired that the language schcool,<strong> EF<\/strong>, carried out Criminal Record Checks on the host family, but not on the students being placed with them. <strong>Junek<\/strong> had previous convictions from a court in the Czech Republic for child sex offences.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One <strong>Kemptown<\/strong> landlord, who lets regularly to overseas&#8217; students said;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is a mistake for a homeowner to regard a complete stranger as one of the family particularly when they have neither language nor culture in common.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Your home has really become a one guest baby hotel. The student is a paying customer and not a convenient, free baby sitter. Host families with their own young children should make adequate child care arrangements, and if anxious ask the languages schools only for female students.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Editorial Comment:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Whilst many will feel outrage at this flagrant abuse of <strong>England&#8217;s<\/strong> hospitality, sex offenders of whatever nationality are usually accomplished liars and skilled in covering their tracks. However our <strong>Government<\/strong> should be doing more to protect us.<\/p>\n<p>It was a disgrace \u00a0that the civil servants running the <strong>Home Office<\/strong> allowed commercial language schools to issue visa to overseas students. Of course they are not going to check out their customers any further than their ability to pay.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing the blame are the civil servants who negotiated the \u00a0open door <strong>EU<\/strong> treaties and failing insist on adequate safeguards concerning foreign criminals.<\/p>\n<p>Modern passports and National ID cards all have electronic bar codes. These could easily contain an individual&#8217;s criminal past and any caught should be deported and made to stay at home.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>If English football hooligans can be prevented from travelling to overseas&#8217; away games then foreign sex criminals must be prevented from coming here in the first place.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>That would certainly help protect us, yet why haven&#8217;t HM&#8217;s civil servants already done this for us? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Are they too busy spending our taxes on their inflation proof pensions?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; <\/p>\n<div style=\"position: absolute; overflow: hidden; width: 2px; height: 1px; left: -288; top: -277; z-index: 177;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cleanserv-neworl.ladyfirst1.xyz\">cleaning service<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Czech man studying at a Brighton language school was sent to prison for two and a half years by Lewes Court Court on Friday 2 May for possessing indecent images of children and other similar offences.
