Nancy Platts, Labour\u2019s Parliamentary candidate for Kemptown and Peacehaven<\/strong>, has weighed into the row about scrapping one of Brighton\u2019s bus routes.<\/p>\n

Together with new Hanover and Elm Grove<\/strong> councillor, Emma Daniel<\/strong>, Labour’s<\/strong> brightest new star, she met with Brighton and Hove Buses<\/strong> managing director, Martin Harris<\/strong>, and left him in no doubt about the strength of feeling concerning proposed changes to the 81 route which runs central Brighton.<\/p>\n

She said: \u2018Having attended a meeting in Queen\u2019s Park earlier this month \u2013 to which \u00a0300 turned up – I knew that somebody had to stand up for local residents. The plans had been rushed through, and I felt that the lack of consultation and communication was hugely unfair on all those people who regard the 81 as their main link to the City and the station.<\/p>\n

\u2018To his credit, Martin Harris really listened to us and has agreed that:<\/p>\n

The company will more thoroughly advertise and promote the new route to clear up any confusion and\u00a0will conduct a review of the new service two months into the changes to gauge views from residents.”<\/p>\n
