{"id":3778,"date":"2013-07-16T08:35:25","date_gmt":"2013-07-16T08:35:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coopsy.co.uk\/thenews\/?p=3778"},"modified":"2013-08-02T12:04:12","modified_gmt":"2013-08-02T12:04:12","slug":"cabinet-minister-visits-brighton-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/the-news.uk\/index.php\/politics-2\/2013\/07\/cabinet-minister-visits-brighton-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"CABINET MINISTER VISITS BRIGHTON HOSPITAL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/the-news.uk\/index.php\/local-news-brighton\/2013\/02\/it-is-good-to-count-says-m-p\/attachment\/kirby-1-3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2675\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-2675\" alt=\"Kirby 1\" src=\"https:\/\/coopsy.co.uk\/thenews\/wp-content\/uploads\/Kirby-12-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Simon Kirby<\/strong>, MP for Brighton Kemptown today visited the <strong>Royal Sussex Hospital<\/strong>\u00a0with <strong>Rt Hon Oliver Letwin MP,<\/strong>Minister for Government Policy to show him the need for the funding to redevelop the hospital to be released.<\/p>\n<p>The Government unveiled \u00a3420 million of funding for redeveloping the Royal Sussex Hospital in <strong>2012<\/strong>, however there have been delays in releasing the funding while the veracity of the hospital\u2019s business plan is considered.<\/p>\n<p>Simon, who has been lobbying the Chancellor and Department of Health on behalf of the hospital and arranged for a tour of the hospital from Chief Executive <strong>Matthew Kershaw<\/strong> said: \u201cIt was great that Oliver accepted my invitation to come down to Brighton and to see for himself the outdated facilities at the Royal Sussex.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Simon added: \u201cI have been making the case in Parliament that the hard working nurses, doctors, staff and patients at the Royal Sussex deserve the very best facilities and that is why the redevelopment is so crucial.
