{"id":3603,"date":"2013-07-09T12:12:34","date_gmt":"2013-07-09T12:12:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coopsy.co.uk\/thenews\/?p=3603"},"modified":"2013-07-16T08:42:38","modified_gmt":"2013-07-16T08:42:38","slug":"simon-kirby-urges-falmer-rail-improvements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/the-news.uk\/index.php\/news\/local-news-brighton\/2013\/07\/simon-kirby-urges-falmer-rail-improvements\/","title":{"rendered":"SIMON KIRBY URGES FALMER RAIL IMPROVEMENTS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By our political team\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Simon Kirby<\/strong>, Member of Parliament for Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven, today met with <strong>Network Rail<\/strong> executives to call for improvements to the signalling at Falmer Station to alleviate problems of congestion, particularly on Brighton and Hove Albion match days, as well as calling for longer and more frequent trains.<\/p>\n<p>Simon said: \u201cI raised a number of issues, including the need for improved signalling at <strong>Falmer<\/strong>, to help reduce congestion for people wishing to use the train to get to and from Falmer.\u00a0 In order to encourage people to use public transport, it is important that the public transport facilities are adequate.<\/p>\n<p>Improvements to the signalling could help ease the problem of long queues at the station and crowded platforms for people leaving the ground and other rail users.
