{"id":315,"date":"2012-05-10T08:51:27","date_gmt":"2012-05-10T08:51:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coopsy.co.uk\/thenews\/?p=315"},"modified":"2012-05-21T12:52:09","modified_gmt":"2012-05-21T12:52:09","slug":"ibiza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/the-news.uk\/index.php\/travel\/2012\/05\/ibiza\/","title":{"rendered":"Ibiza!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>By William Mills<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Parties<\/h4>\n<p>It\u2019s party time in Ibiza again and as the new season kicks off we will provide some information on where to go and how to get there.<\/p>\n<p>The new nightclub season has just got off to a roaring start with both short breaks and longer holidays ever more affordable.<\/p>\n<h4>Nightclubs<\/h4>\n<p>The first thing to realise is Ibiza is a wonderful holiday destination in its own right even without the clubs and late night bars for which it\u2019s famous.<\/p>\n<h4>Island<\/h4>\n<p>Ibiza is not big measuring about 15 miles by 28,\u00a0 with its capital \u2018Eivissa\u2019, or Ibiza Town as the tour brochure refer to it, no more than a small town which has everything necessary.<\/p>\n<p>The old town \u2018Dalt Vila\u2019 has tremendous charm and history. The Mediterranean Sea sparkles invitingly.<\/p>\n<p>Ibiza\u2019s average sea temperature varies between 15C in January and 26C in August. On the other hand Brighton ranges from 9C in winter to peaking at 17C in September. In May\/June time Brighton is 11\/14 C, in contrast Ibiza\u2019s sea ranges from 18 to 21C.<\/p>\n<p>However, early in the season it can still be distinctly chilling when the sun is behind a cloud, so an evening jersey is a must.<\/p>\n<p>National Express coaches run a reliable service to Gatwick where Easyjet provide a daily service to Ibiza from 18<sup>th<\/sup> May.<\/p>\n<h4>Sunshine<\/h4>\n<p>A superb location to try is Figueretas. It\u2019s a small bay on the outskirts of Eivissa within walking distance of both the town centre to the east, and westwards towards Playa D\u2019en Bossa with its cheerful image of beach, bars and clubs.<\/p>\n<p>Figueretas has accommodation ranging from the basic apartments to up market hotels. It is generally tranquil at night with \u2018la vie\u2019 a short walk away.<\/p>\n<p>The sandy beach, palm trees and clear sea are breath taking, with a good range of reasonably priced bars, cafes, and restaurants to hand.<\/p>\n<p>Three clubs to consider visiting are Pacha, Space and Ushuia. Tickets can be bought in advance online while still in the UK. It should also be noted that some clubs insist you buy drink tokens from a vending machine beforehand. There is no free tap water as in the UK. Even small bottles can cost several euros each.<\/p>\n<p>A local English speaking bar in Figueretas, Father Jacks gives a warm welcome and has information on the latest club offers and some complimentary tickets.<\/p>\n<h4>Travel<\/h4>\n<p>On returning back to Gatwick Easyjet\u2019s flight arrives at 2.30am. It seems pointless to save money on night time flights only to spend it on \u00a3100 plus taxi rides. So, unless a car awaits, pace yourself for the 4.40am coach home.
