PHONE FREE EATERIE : RESTAURANT CHAIN TO LAUNCH ‘NO PHONE ZONES’<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

To the delight, no doubt, of many mums across the country hoping to enjoy a lovely – and peaceful – meal out this Mother’s day, the Beefeater restaurant chain have announced ‘phone free zones’ to be launched this weekend.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

54% of people in the UK said that the most common cause of dinner-out arguments was the constant phone checking of other people at the table.<\/span><\/p>\n

Good old fashioned ‘family conversation’ is rated as the single most beneficial aspect of a good day out, with nearly two-thirds of respondents suggesting that just having a nice chat is the best bit of a family outing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Beefeater restaurants already have smoking and no-smoking segregation zones, but this Mother’s Day sees them take the bold and surely popular step of adding a third ‘phone free’ zone.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beefeater guests will be able to book a ‘No Phone Zone’ table for Sunday 6th March and those in the zone will have to hand their mobile phones to staff ‘as a deposit’ when they arrive. Eagle-eyed Beefeater staff will patrol the ‘No Phone Zone’ for mobiles and have the right to move guests who do not comply with the new rule.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The ‘No Phone Zone’ will be trialled across sites\u00a0this weekend, with a view to make the areas permanent if well received by diners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sarah Tinsley, Head of Marketing for Beefeater said;\u00a0“There’s no denying the huge benefits our smartphones provide us, but there is a time and a place for their use and, especially on Mother’s Day, we think we can do without them for an hour or two.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0“We hope this small adjustment to our setup enables a few more families to add some seasoned conversation to their meal.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Hopefully, their motto of ‘Mum’s the Word – Keep Phones at Bay on Mother’s Day’ will be successful.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beefeater is a British brand that first fired up the grill in 1974 and now has over 140 restaurants nationwide. The combination of great steak, friendly service and relaxed surroundings made Beefeater a big hit in Britain in the 70s, 80s and 90s and today is no different.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
