Shoreham came alive to the roar of fast jet engines screaming across the deep blue sky. A RAF Typhoon had flown down from RAF Coningsby in Lincolshire, and with a maximum speed in excess of Mach 1.6 it might not have taken long.
The audience was told that today as the speed of sound at sea level was 653 knots the Typhoon was flying over us at just over 600 knots. It made a lot of noise!
