In Brighton and Hove there are lots of places to buy logs and coal. The Garden Centre, just by the race course at the top of Elm Gove has a big selection of open fire fuels in its car park. B&Q in Lewes Road also has logs and coal. Corralls, Sackville Road trading estate has both logs, fire lighters, kindling and coal. They will also deliver 25kg sacks with a minimum of six.

Any pub with an open fire will have a source of fire wood. Ask where they get theirs from and what is the minimum delivery requirement.

Remember that in certain areas you must use smokeless coal. The advantage of the more expensive coals is they burn much longer and can still be hot in the morning.
