Speaking about the consultation on proposed fire service cuts Nancy Platts, Labour parliamentary candidate for Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven said,

“The consultation carried out by East Sussex Fire Authority has been a sham.  I have spoken to hundreds of residents in Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven and it is clear that the news about these cuts has not reached the community. East Sussex Fire Authority has a responsibility to the public to be open and transparent and it is now evident that they have failed in that duty.”

She continues,

“I will be speaking at the public meeting on Thursday, 29th May at 7pm at the Brighthelm Centre, North Road BN1 1YD and I hope that lots of local people will come along and share their views and concerns about the proposed cuts to our fire service.”
