March For England nationalists heavily outnumbered by Unite Against Fascism supporters
A wet Sunday in Brighton was this year’s venue for the confrontation between March For England supporters and left wing counter protesters.
The march was originally planned along a short stretch of Brighton’s seafront but rain showers dampened people’s resolve to turn out in large numbers.
Fighting broke out between 1.30 and 3.30 as both sides made their way back towards the station with groups clashing in the North Laines and Queen’s Road which runs up to the station, with a pub and a health food shop having their windows smashed.
