Labour has historic win in Brighton & Hove City Council by election. Emma Daniel has won Hanover and Elm Grove ward for Labour.
‘Emma currently works in Digital Democracy. She has been a member of the City’s Community and Voluntary Sector Forum, the Sussex Police Authority, and founded the Coats for Kids project in November 2012, which collected and distributed winter coats to families across Brighton who could not afford them.
In her years working with the voluntary sector in housing and homelessness, Emma has seen first-hand what it is like to really struggle, and how much difference government can make, good and bad, in people’s lives.
Emma believes we need practical support from a council that understands the pressures of everyday life. As a working mum she experiences plenty of that!
Problems like rubbish and parking are difficult to resolve, but if elected, Emma plans to consult the community in Hanover and Elm Grove properly, and do everything she can to ensure the views of local residents are heard.’
