A taxi driver has been fined more than £650 for knocking a woman off her bike and then driving away in Brighton.
On May 2 around 8am the victim, a 20-year-old woman from Brighton, was cycling on London Road and was near to the junction with Harrington Road when the taxi collided with her.
Mehrdad Kaivanpor, the taxi driver, was traced and summons to court charged with driving without due and attention and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
The 33-year-old of Clermont Terrace, Brighton appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court on October 29 and pleaded guilty to failing to stop and not guilty to careless driving. He was found guilty for the careless driving.
He was given nine penalty points and £155 fine for failing to stop, with £20 victim surcharge and £110 fine for careless driving and costs of £650.
