On Thursday Trades Union demonstrators gathered in Pavilion Gardens in the centre of Brighton, Sussex. The fine autumn weather favoured them as they waited to support the National Union of Teachers’ Day of Action resulting in thousands of pupils and their teachers having a day off school.
Many were ill disposed towards the Government..
But it was all good natured and colourful…..
By the time the march started outside the Theatre Royal quite a crowd had collected….
Bagpipes added to the sense of occasion….
The marchers heading down Brighton’s North Street before turning up the Old Steine.
