Former Brighton Mayor Bill Randall, Green councillor and former council leader, attended the inaugural meeting of the new Brighton and Hove Heritage Commission at the Toy and Model Museum situated beneath Brighton’s railway station.
Under the railway arch in Trafalgar Lane is a gem housing a wonderful collection of toys stretching back generations. Today’s youngsters can see how their grandparents were given much loved wooden toys and were expected to use their imaginations for entertainment and learning.
Roger Amerena, Brighton resident and philanthropist, has set up the new BHH Commission as an umbrella organisation for all those interested in looking after historic buildings. He was able to attract over fifty people of all ages to his first event at the Toy Museum.
The place radiated the love all these toys must have had lavished on them.
The castles must be among the favourites…..
