Sussex Police refused requests for information over an incident at New Steine Gardens, in busy St James’s Street, Brighton.
An officer at the scene said, “No comment. Contact our media centre at Police Headquarters.”
Yet when the Sussex Police media hotline was called and asked why nine Police officers in three vehicles were needed to attend an incident involving one male and a bicycle parked on the pavement, they first claimed no knowledge then promised to ring back. They didn’t.
The Police media centre also refused to comment after being told a man in the back of one of the Police cars was shouting in a foreign accent; “This is not right.”
Is this a sinister new development by Sussex Police to stay silent over any incident involving immigrants?
