Britain’s tribute to the heroes of Afghanistan

The Royal British Legion is calling on veterans of the Afghanistan conflict to take part in a parade that will follow the Service of Commemoration being held to mark the end of combat operations at St Paul’s Cathedral next Friday 13th March.

Following the conclusion of the Service, six detachments of Serving and ex-Service personnel will proceed from St Paul’s to Guildhall. The Legion is seeking 400 veterans who took part in military operations in Afghanistan to form the sixth and final detachment.

Following the conclusion of the parade, the veteran contingent will be transported to Wellington Barracks where the Legion will host a lunch reception in their honour. Close family members will also be invited to join them at this reception.

If you, or anyone you know, Served in the Armed Forces and was deployed to Afghanistan during our period of operation from 2001–2014, we’d love you or them to join us. Simply complete the accreditation form at: www.britishlegion.org.uk/afghanistan

Space within the veteran detachment and at the family reception that follows, is limited however; so applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis.
