Police are appealing for witnesses to a car crash in which a silver Honda Civic split in two after leaving the road and colliding with a tree.

The incident happened on Monday (9 June) at about 9.45pm on Kennel Hill, half a mile south of Goodwood Racecourse. The road was closed for several hours while emergency and recovery services were on scene.

A 23-year-old Fishbourne man who had been driving the car was taken to St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester, by ambulance after suffering neck and head injuries.

Anyone who saw what happened or who recalls seeing the Honda being driven in the area shortly before the incident is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101 or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk, quoting Operation Barnsley.
